Dr. Jana Hartmann
Biophysicist, cell biologist, and neuroscientist
Jana Hartmann holds a diploma in biophysics, a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in biology, and a habilitation in neuroscience, a postdoctoral academic qualification. She has extensive academic research experience in cellular and systems neuroscience, including electrophysiology, calcium imaging, molecular and cellular biology, and in vivo studies. She has also taught physiology to medical students and worked as a university lecturer in PhD programs. Her research has focused on neuronal signaling, synaptic plasticity, and neurodegenerative disease, and she has published in high-impact journals including Cell, Nature Communications, Nature Neuroscience, Neuron, and The EMBO Journal. She reviews scientific and biomedical content for accuracy, strength of evidence, and appropriate interpretation of preclinical and clinical research.
